All-New 2019 Toyota RAV4 Unveiled at the New York International Auto Show
March 26 2019, Western Toyota
When Toyota redesigned the RAV4 at the New York Auto Show a year ago, they were redesigning a compact SUV that was already among the best-selling not only in its segment but in the entire industry in Canada as a whole. That means that one of the most popular compact SUVs just got better, and when you get behind the wheel of the new 2019 Toyota RAV4 you will quickly see how impressive Toyota’s compact SUV has become.
Improved Toyota Safety Sense for the 2019 Toyota RAV4
The fifth-generation Toyota RAV4 features the second generation of the Japanese automaker’s standard suite of active safety systems called Toyota Safety Sense. TSS-P 2.0 keeps the impressive features of the previous generation such as adaptive cruise control, automatic braking with pedestrian detection and lane departure warning with automatic steering. That said, the new model also adds a driver fatigue detection system that warns you when it’s time to take a break.
New and Improved Engine
The 2019 Toyota RAV4 offers a more powerful, more efficient Dynamic Force 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine. Power numbers aren’t known yet, but this engine is featured in the new Camry where it is the most powerful in its class while also being one of the most fuel-efficient. With 203 horsepower out of the gate, the new RAV4 does exactly that.
Other changes include a new off-road model called the Trail. It offers more protective cladding and a brand new, more rugged all-wheel-drive system with a locking differential. The AWD can also be deactivated when not needed in order to save fuel.
Inside the 2019 Toyota RAV4, buyers can expect more space and even more features including the brand new Entune 3.0 infotainment system. On the road, the 2019 Toyota drives more smoothly while also being more dynamic thanks to a brand new TNGA platform.
